If you look up the history of Texas blues, you'll find Blind Lemon Jefferson mentioned as one of the key founders of the musical style, and a strong influence on later performers like T-Bone Walker and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

But let's not forget that the great bluesman Huddie Ledbetter (or "Lead Belly," as he was known), got his musical start in Texas also.  He was born in Louisiana, but his family moved to East Texas when Huddie was ten years old.  He played in the Dallas and Fort Worth music scene before moving on to a national career.

A note on Lead Belly's stage name:  Though often written (even on song  releases) as "Leadbelly", his own way of writing his name was  "Lead Belly", which is how his name appears on his tombstone and the spelling used by the Lead Belly Foundation.
