Briefly describe the battle of fredericksburg and the battle of chancellorsville.

Fredericksburg-gen. ambrose burnside (union) attacked gen.lee (confed) at fredericksburg va. the union essentially had a lot of trouble trying to find a way across the rappahannock(river ) and that gave lee the ability to move in on the union .the confeds eventually won after the union retreated . the battle @fredricksburg was one of the most decisive and influential battles for the union .  chancellorsville -happened in va. gen.hook(union) took the place of gen.ambrose burnside^^ and led over 115,000 men to attack the confederates . he created a tactical plan in which he'd avoid the trenches placed by gen.lee(confederate)   and then place 2/3 of his army in the front of fredericksburg as a distraction while the rest went on to move across the river and go behind lee's army. lee easily outsmarted him, however, by splitting his army . the confederates won this one as well.  hope this : )
