Why do we measure the period by timing 25 revolutions? why not one revolution or 100 revolutions?

The actor john gielgud believed that of all shakespeare's characters hamlet is probably the one most like shakespeare himself–since, of all shakespeare's characters, only hamlet can be imagined to have written all the shakespearean plays. how good an understanding of hamlet's character does gielgud's belief reflect?

Assemblies do not have written codes of laws. laws are matters for magistrates and courts, not assemblies. codes of law are things such as civil law, criminal law, and constitutional law. what assemblies have are procedures regarding debating, voting and other business they might carry out.  also note that rome had three assemblies: the assembly of the soldiers, the assembly of the tribes, and the plebeian councils.
