Which hominid is considered to be the handyman by being the first to use tools?

The answer they're looking for is likely Homo habilus, however scientists still debate how accurate that might be.  It is now believed that the original tools were wooden and have been lost to erosion and decay.  Thus the first CONSIDERED would be Homo Habilus as he was thought to be our original terrestrial ancestor keeping himself out of the trees and carrying tools for repeated use rather than one-time use sticks.
