How did both townspeople and monarchs benefit from their mutual support?

Monarchs protected townspeople in case someone would attack them or they would ensure that townspeople had their rights or solve their disputes judicially. In return, townspeople would pay taxes to the monarch, give him goods, or go to war for him if need be.

The townspeople inflicted peace and unity, better business conditions, and their own court systems. And the monarchs extended their stay between nobles and support in towns and were able to save money by reducing the size of their armies

The benefit which townspeople and Monarchs benefited from each other was that townspeople worked towards improving the economy and monarchs extended their support in towns.

In the period of early Middle Ages, many feudal nobles used to rule over territories of different size variations. They had their own courts and armies which used to collect taxes from the people as they had their own taxes which they had imposed. The Church was also considered as central power as it had its own laws and own system of justice. Even after Feudalism took pace in England during that time, Monarchs of the country kept their kingdoms United. Rulers of England repeatedly used to clash with churches as they tried to impose taxes. The only benefit which townspeople and Monarchs had from each other was that townspeople were working towards improving the economy by collecting taxes and by making economic decisions which they thought were suitable for the betterment of people and Monarchs extended their support in town as there were clashes going in town between the church and people as people thought that the church was imposing taxes which were not required. So in a way both Monarchs and Townspeople benefited from each other.
