The checks and balances in the Constitution keep any one branch from having too much power. For example, the Executive branch chooses Judicial judges, but Congress has to approve those judges. The Executive branch can veto a bill, but Congress can override the veto with if a certain amount of people vote yes. These are just a few of the checks and balances in the Constitution.
