Elections in England wouldn't have affected the colonies as much, at least it wouldn't have been something that directly affected them. The Stamp and Intolerable acts would be something passed on the colonists. However the Stamp Acts were passed long before 1774, so it wouldn't have been a major point of issue like the Intolerable Acts, which were passed in 1774.
