Gentlemen of the Congress,

The very premise of such a document established to grant us independence and furthermore our individual freedoms heeds little regard for the women of this (now) free nation. If governed properly by the people, such a massive exclusion mustn't be allowed. The document decrees that all men have been given equal rights under an equal god, but there's no reasoning behind women not being included. No scientific proof exists women deserve diminished inherent rights. Women are just as capable as that of men, displayed by the heroic actions of  Anna Smith Strong, a spy for General Washington, or Deborah Sampson, who posed as a man in order to serve in the Continental Army.

I and women across the colonies unanimously concur upon the fact women are equals and should therefore be treated as such, we propose for this Congress to pass a law allowing us suffrage and basic human rights equal to yours.
