Why did many Japanese turn against the West after World War I?

Japan turned against the West after World War I, particularly because it expected to be rewarded the same as the Western allies. However, Japan was mostly left out and what they wanted was not a condition met during the treaty signing. Disgruntled, the Japanese turned on the Western Allies, and proceeded to invade Manchuria and the Pacific Islands for natural resources. However, many of these islands were of European and American interests or were even their colonies, which antagonized Japan against the Allies.
