SOCIAL The people that had the best work and owned the most property usually had the highest social status. In Egypt the pharaoh of the time was at the top of the social structure, then the farmers, and then the slaves. There where the most slaves, the second most farmers, and one pharaoh. The Aryans influenced all of the other ancient civilizations that lived in the Indus River Valley. Israelites and Phoenicians shared this area.
POLICAL Temples where the biggest buildings. Temples where used for economic activities. Pharaohs were able to control undertakings that were political as well as religious. Aryans brought with them the concept of “Rajah.” Kings and prophets ruled Israelites.
RELIGION They practiced polytheism and related the pharaoh to a god. They also believed in life after death.
The Israelites believed in one god.
INTELLECT The Israelites followed the Ten Commandments, and the Phoenicians created an alphabet like we use today.
TECHNOLOGY They had the first walled cities and created the iron plow, sail, and wheel.
Egyptians had sewage systems, and the tools to make art, and jewelry.
ECONOMY They traded with Mesopotamia and built granaries to store surplus.
They relied on farming and trade. The Phoenician’s government created the first currency.
