The "inner cabinet" of a U.S. President usually includes the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Attorney General. However, the Secretary of the Interior is most likely not considered to be a part of the inner cabinet. The inner cabinet is made up of department heads that are most commonly associated with major issues of national importance or security.
