Noemi is terrified as she steps out of the train car and onto the platform, even if it does mean fresh air for the first time in two weeks. She sees the Nazi guards separating the arrivals. Noemi is directed to follow the other women who have been herded off the train. The group is told by a
guard to take off their clothes and fold them neatly in a pile because they will all be given disinfecting showers. Once naked, Noemi and the
other women are forced down a narrow, closed in corridor. How do the Nazis refer to the area in which Noemi now finds herself?
