How did the Federal government help/did not help in the change for African - Americans

African Americans were helped the least by the New Deal. Sharecroppers, a common occupation of African Americans, were no longer needed and lost their jobs and homes. Even "alphabet soup" jobs discriminated against minorities. African Americans were often the last hired and first fired.

The 15th Amendment, which sought to protect the voting rights of African American men after the Civil War, was adopted into the U.S. Constitution in 1870.
