They also had to pay reparations, which this along with the already bad German economy, caused many people to suffer. Germany did not feel as if they should have the whole blame for World War I, as many countries were involved. They thought they had as much to do with the war as anybody else, so many people did not want their country to take the blame for it. This caused deep resentment in the German people, along with resentment within Adolf Hitler.
