I cannot think of anything that has contributed more to the downfall of the American political system than the 2 party system. In Canada, where I live, there are 5 parties in our parliament. Five. We even have one party (Parti Quebecois) whose main platform is the break Quebec away from the rest of Canada.  Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. America could learn much from Canada.
