When World War I began in July 1914, some world leaders said their soldiers would be home by Christmas in December. They didn’t imagine that the war would last for so many years or involve so much of the world. World War I finally ended in 1918 when Germany asked for a ceasefire. Currently, the United States is involved in wars in the Middle East. Are these wars similar to World War I or are they different? What will it take for these wars to end?
