Discuss THREE contributing factors that led to the human trafficking ​

Political instability, militarism, civil unrest, internal armed conflict and natural disasters may result in an increase in trafficking. The destabilization and displacement of populations increase their vulnerability to exploitation and abuse through trafficking and forced labour.

The three factors that contribute to human trafficking are:

1. Poverty and Unemployment- Poverty arises from unemployment. People who do not have sufficient money to fulfil their basic daily needs are in a vulnerable position and therefore fall prey to the traffickers.

2. Lack of experience or knowledge- Not all teenagers are aware of the harsh realities and thereby can fall prey to the lucrative job offers given by the traffickers.

3. Displacement- Political instability, war conditions and natural disasters can result in individuals or entire families getting displaced from their homes.

In such cases, people become vulnerable to abuse and trafficking.
