Balancing the desires of the majority of the population against the freedoms of the minority of the population is part of which trade-off?

Democracy- It is a compromise that not only allows the majority to have their way but protects the freedoms and rights of the minority in expressing and voicing their will. In a democratic government the minority also have all the freedoms and rights provided in the constitution. They can use them through different constitutional institutions. Any violation to these rights and freedoms is remedied by the government through the Judiciary.
