The army During the Mexican American War the battle fought at the Alamo became infamous. The Battle of the Alamo was fought between an army of Texas patriots including men from states like Tennessee and Mississippi and the 5,000 strong army of the legendary Mexican General Antonio de Lopez de Santa Anna.
