The scope of its power and influence can only be determined over time. All American citizens must ask themselves if this organization formed for their security has the potential to threaten their liberties. Each citizen has a responsibility to ensure that the government and its agencies operate within the limits of the Constitution, just as our forefathers intended. While one of the government's main roles is to protect its citizens, at the same time, the citizens of the United States must remain the guardians of their own freedoms.
