Why would the colonists welcome the idea of becoming a royal colony? 1It would mean an opportunity to be directly under the king's control and receive more benefits.
2They could trade directly with Britain and not pay foreign taxes.
3The change would mean the same rights and privileges as the other colonies.
4The trustees had become tyrants, so this would be a welcome change.
