Why is it important to know that there are good and bad bacteria?

Bacteria can be good and bad. for example, we have good bacteria in our bodies. we are dependent on these good bacteria and they are needed to keep us healthy. some good bacteria help fight against pathogens that can enter out bodies and cause serious problems so thats why we need good bacteria. it's important because if someone gets a disease and scientists try to find a cure or some type of probiotic to help that disease, scientists have to know what type of bacteria their working with and how to get rid/kill of bad bacteria while making sure they do nothing to the good bacteria in our bodies
