The federal communications commission is an independent agency of the United States government. It was made to regulate communications that take place by radio, Television, Satellite, and cable. It keeps an eye and its jurisdiction over the areas that are related to broadband access as well as radiofrequency use, media responsibility, and homeland security.

This agency was formed in the year 1934 under the communications act and this act was made to replace functions of radio regulation of Federal radio commission.
