Most of the American Indians (including the Wabanaki Confederacy, the Abenaki, the Mi'kmaq, the Algonquin, the Lenape, the Ojibwa, the Ottawa  and the Shawnee) were allied with France, except the Iroquois Confederacy, which responded to Great Britain.

It is estimated that some 2,500 American Indian warriors fought against the British forces in this war.
