What was a key argument against the british concept of virtual representation in parliament for the colonists?

colonists had no say in the choice of members of parliament. each colony's representation in parliament was based on its population. each colony's representation in parliament was based on its its revenue. the colonists were not in favor of additional legislative bodies above and beyond their own assemblies.
