What arguments do the anti-imperialists make that oppose senator beveridge's point of view?

The main criticism of imperialism at the time was because of its violating nature of the fundamental principle of the Republic: the consensus of the governed. The problem was not, therefore, economic or territorial, but ran into the political question, since it violated the principle of nonintervention.
