While there is economic boost during second industrial revolution, social impacts are both in advantageous and disadvantageous. 

Because of inclination towards construction and businesses, federal government helped conglomerates in dispersing Indian natives from their lands to give way transportation system. With this access, there is demographic unbalance of people living in urban and rural areas. People flocked to those areas where there are more working opportunities. With mechanization, many low skilled workers are displaced and working conditions are worse. Strikes and pickets rose. Poverty is evident especially with those with low skills because industries are leaning to a workforce who can operate machine.

Economic advancement created a wider margin of status. People are ranked per their literacy and skill. Higher education for women is still is difficult to achieved. With higher living standards, people opted to fewer family members thus there is a decrease in overall birth rate.
