Define the tripartite pact and explain its significance.

The Tripartite Pact was an agreement between the Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan. It meant that they would come to one another’s aid in war. The pact warned the United States that if the country went to war with one of the Axis powers, it would be at war with all of them.
