How did world war 2 lead to changes in european rule in africa?

The perspective of Africans changed in a significant way after fighting in WWII. For years, Africans had been unhappy with the treatment they received from white settlers. As they fought side by side with these "colonial overlords" in the Second World War, that discontent grew. During the war, they were exposed to many new influences and ideas, which led them to see that the white man could be taken down if they attempted to do so.
