The similarities between the middle class and the burgher during renaissance lies in the economic status. Just like middle class in united states, the burgher class make up of working individuals that are not poor, but does not have abundant amount of money.

The difference is that the burgher class had the chance to accumulate wealth and support from citizens and finally become the lords under feudalistic system.
