The Articles of Confederation (1781) created a weak central government consisting of a national legislature only called "Congress". Under this Constitution, Congress had a few powers, some of them included the power to declare war (even though it wasn't authorized to draft soldiers), appoint military officers, sign treaties, make alliances, appoint foreign ambassadors, manage relations with Indians, and raise money only by asking the states for funds (which had the option to reject the request), by borrowing from foreign governments, or selling western lands.

in 1877, the nez perce war took place.

1881 - president james garfield was assassinated.

1882 - the chinese exclusion act was passed.

1883 - a decision in the civil rights cases legalized racial segregation in the united states.

1887 - the dawes act was passed.

1893 - the panic of 1893 took place. (what a creative name)

and there are probably other topics you can find if you just search up "united states timeline," or "conflicts in the 19th century for america."

then once you find a topic you like find out how it affected the people of america and what not. (sorry if this feels a bit short changed, history was and never will be one of my strong topics)

it would have concentrated power in the executive branch of the government. it would have restored balance among the three branches of government. it would have set a precedent for government intervention in the economy. it would have signaled an end to all the programs of roosevelt’s new deal.
