This episode focuses on Aristotle's idea that that state should fit the best people into their
appropriate roles. So, part of living a good life means doing those things that will do what is best for
the polis and the citizen, even if the individual doesn't want it. As Sandel discusses, this diminishes
the importance of freedom and autonomy. To what extent and in what way do you agree with
Aristotle? How could an arrangement like this produce happiness for an individual, even if he
doesn't get to choose what he wants to do? Make sure to include definitions of relevant concepts
and/or discussions from the course material to support your view.
