In a representative democracy:
a. people come together in large meetings to vote on public policy
b. the people govern themselves
c. political power is held by a small group of people
d. people elect officials to run the government for them

well it definitly does because if you are seen as weak you will be seen as unimportant and they will walk all over you and the us is the most powerful military and the largest in the world
