Differences among Mexico’s revolutionary leaders reflected sharp divisions in Mexican society. Emiliano Zapata was an Indian from southern Mexico; Francisco Madero and Venustiano Carranza were from upper-class, land-owning families. Francisco “Pancho” Villa was a mestizo peasant from the north. However, these men also had some similarities. Think about the texts and activities.
