Characteristics of feudalism​

Feudalism was a system of political and social organization based on relationships between vassals and feudal lords. Regarding the economic and social order, it was based on agricultural production, what was necessary was produced, work that was carried out by the slaves for the fiefdom. See also Feudalism.

The fundamental social classes were: the feudal lord, the serf and the clergy. The feudal lord ruled the fief, dispensed justice, and collected taxes. Although thw monarchy was the form of goverment, the feudal lord had the power at a local power. Culture was controlled by the Church.

Feudalism was a hierarchical social system built around concessions, property and hereditary privileges, which the monarchy handed over to a ruling class as a reward for their services and their political and especially military loyalty during the Middle Ages in Europe.

In this system, only the nobility had a monopoly on the mills, presses, ovens, hunting and fishing, as well as the highest positions in society, thereby controlling it both politically and economically. Thus, the other inhabitants had to submit to the will of the nobility in order to survive.
