Indeed, in my opinion, America has lived up to what President Lincoln mentioned in his Gettysburg Address, especially with regard to Lincoln's mention of democracy, understanding it as the government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Thus, over the years America has become a guardian nation of democracy not only in its country, but also in the rest of the world, protecting international citizens from tyrannies and authoritarian governments throughout the world.

Thus, during the Cold War, America has protected South Korea from falling into the hands of dictatorial communist governments, and during the Gulf War it protected Kuwait from annexation by the dictatorial regime of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, among other examples.
