Since the Spartans were warriors, they usually wore clothes that were a dark crimson color as this color would hide blood from wounds received in battle.

Men were the only people in Sparta who were considered citizens. Men have to be soldiers and have to start training when they are seven years old.

The Perioikoi where the people in charge of the agricultural land, business,controlling commerce, and responsible for the manufacture of spartan weapons and armor.

Helots where individual spartans owned by the state and were assigned agricultural work.

The Agoge had basic classes such as reading and writing but the vicious conditions involved being stripped from their parents at age 7, being forced to fight their classmates to prove strength to the teachers, they were put to tests to restrain hardship like cold, hunger and pain.

Exercise for Spartan women was seen as a guarantee that the strong & fit would better survive childbirth and produce healthy offspring.

The Battle of Thermopylae is the most important battle of the Persian War because the sacrifice of the men at Thermopylae later fueled the Greeks to push the Persian army back out of their country. The council of elders  were usually wealthy men from aristocratic (rich) families. The Spartan government was an oligarchy, where  28 rich men could overrule the majority of the people.
