It may seem odd that the Sikhs believe that their holy book, the Adi Granth, is a living guru (authoritative teacher), but their elevated estimation of their scripture is similar to how Christians (especially Protestants) view the Bible and how Muslims regard the Qur'an. Do you think that God (or the gods) have revealed sacred truths to humankind? If so, how can we know which holy book is genuine? Are they all genuine? (Or none of them?) What principles should be followed in interpreting scriptures?
