Why is women's suffrage considered a progressive law?

Progressive law refers to the type of law that is created to improve the standard of living of the people by using governmental legislations

The women suffrage movement started in United States around mid 1800s. At that point in time women hasn't get the right to vote. The constitution specifically give that right only White men.

The women's suffrage movement was created to give women with the right to vote (which will definitely improve their standard of living). Because of this, women's suffrage is considered as a progressive law.
