The correct statement is that Franklin D. Roosevelt and his policies were hugely criticized but were helpful in restructuring the stability of America after the downfall during the Great Depression.

Roosevelt had suggested the following of socialism during the Great Depression and which would be strongly subject to agreement of many people when analyzed back.

Roosevelt New DealRoosevelt had implemented the New Deal after the Great Depression stuck the country after a crash of nearly 80% in the stock market of the USA. There was a huge criticism of this New Deal by men like Huey P. Long, who had proposed that the New Deal will end the purpose of America being a capitalist economy. However, it was realized later that adopting the socialist governance was the need of the hour during the Great Depression of the Twentieth Century.

Hence, the policies recommended by Roosevelt in New Deal were criticized but proved to be beneficial for the rise of economic conditions of America.

Robert A. Taft, powerful Republican Senator from Ohio from 1939 to 1953. Taft was the leader of the Republican Party's conservative wing; he consistently denounced the New Deal as "socialism" and argued that it harmed America's business interests and gave ever-greater control to the central government in Washington.

So I would not agree because America is Capitalist not Socialist.

I would like to keep Capitalism since it has been really successful and the economy is great, also there is no country that was ever successful using Socialism because socialism and communism only work while the government has money; If the government-run out of money then no one will have money and it will fail as Venezuela did so I'd rather have our Capitalism.
