During the process of modeling Phineases head he starts by using two straws and inserting them in Phineases nose so he may breath for the following step. Afterwards he then pours a fine liquid plaster over his head, with which he will use to form and mold the exact shape of his head. After what I assume to be a moment of a drying period he lifts the plaster mold off his head. This created a perfect mold of Phineases head.
