Mesoamerican Ball Game is the first ever recorded team game in history. Starting in 1700 BC, at least eight different Mesoamerican civilizations played this ball game and wove it into their culture. Some even used it to determine who would be human sacrifices: the losing team was sometimes sacrificed. A variation of it is still being played today. Gymnastics is another sport that is still being played today. It was first invented in 500 BCE in ancient Greece. When the Romans invaded Greece, they took gymnastics and added it as part of their military training. Tsu Chu is another ancient sport. It was invented in 2500 BCE and is similar to soccer today. Sports played a huge part in history, from entertainment, to religious purposes, to military training.
