Why does Dr. Franklin suggest changes like removing the issue of slavery and making the document sound less like something you would hear in church? He doesn't agree with what Jefferson wrote. He wants to make it something that most people will agree to- so they need to stick to the primary issue of Independence without bringing in other hot button issues. He is afraid it will cost too much to print. He thinks it's too wordy and people won't read the whole thing- less is more.
