French revolution consisted of a feudal class system. Clergy was the term associated with parish priests and other such people. Clergies not only included priests but also had a strong connection with the bishops.

During the French revolution, there was a deep migration and people partitioned their opinions and several groups were formed. Out of this, the Third estate was one such group which had comprised out of clergies.Parish priests having a common descent formed the 98% population of the Third estate as the priests blindly followed the sayings of feudal lords and had to worship them as a part of the rules commonly followed .Clergies also included of bishops and could be said to have the same ideologies as they had a common goal.
