The Middle Atlantic phase's conflicts begin. In and around New York City and Long Island The Middle Atlantic phase, which began in the summer of 1776 and ended in the summer of 1778, was the second stage or phase.

About the Middle Atlantic phase:

During this time, King George announced that the colonists were in open revolt and dispatched troops to put them back under control.This was a brutal period of fighting between the Americans and the British, with different outcomes, such as Washington and his men eliminating large numbers of British troops but failing to take control of Fort Washington and Fort Lee, as well as having to withdraw or retreat from Philadelphia due to British forces occupying the city.The 1779 World War was also fought, with British forces stationed around the world and at home to combat the French if they invaded, as the Spanish were fighting on the French side.
