Please help!! Why was Fort Louis established as an alternative to Fort Maurepas? 1- Fort Maurepas had come under siege by American Indian tribes in the region.
2- The ground near Fort Maurepas became too difficult for farming.
3- Settlers were unable to find the mouth of the river and were forced to settle at Fort Louis.
4- The land near Fort Louis was not occupied by American Indians.
