Which policy was created by the law of April 6 1830

Law of April 6, 1830 was issued because of the Mier y Terán Report to counter concerns that Mexican Texas, part of the border state of Coahuila y Tejas was in danger of being annexed by the United States. Immigration of United States citizens, some legal, most illegal, had begun to accelerate rapidly.

They taxed goods from foreign countries to encourage trade from Mexico with Texas in order to create a better relationship because they were on the brink of war from tensions.

Mexico also banned further immigration from the United States, because there were over 20,000 Texas which outnumbered the Mexicans, so they stopped immigration to prevent bigger numbers in case of war.
