According to jefferson, have the colonies been peaceful or chaotic?

The colonies have been chaotic according to Jefferson, but that is seen as normal and understandable because the country has been a young one and there are always rebellions and chaos in such countries.

Contributing factors  leading  to the harlem renaissance were the great migration of african americans to northern cities, which concentratedambitious  people in places where they could encourage each  other, and the first world war, which had created new industrial work opportunities for tens of thousands of people.
