I think the American colonists might have felt awful and upset when they knew about George Grenville's decision. The reason for my answer is the following.

In 1763, George Greenville was the Prime Minister of Great Britain. After the deep debt England had due to the many expenses once the Seven Years War had ended, he was desperate to get more money to save the critical financial situation of England. That is when he decided to impose heavy taxation on the North American colonies. The taxes were so high that the American colonists get really angry and this was one of the main reasons for the Boston Tea party, as well as a good reason years later to start the Revolutionary War against the Crown of England, demanding Independence.
