European colonization had a devastating effect on the the natives, because they had no immunity to European diseases and died, . They also brought guns, alcohol and horses. The effect of these was to change the way of life for the Native Americans.  1/3 of the native population died because of small pox and other reasons the first interactions between them were friendly because they were both eager to trade with each other but that did'int last long when the Europeans found out that they had lots of gold, also the french and native war was a cause for lots of native deaths
